Fernwood Place
Fernwood Place is located two and a half blocks from downtown and provides access to banking and pharmacy within easy walking distance. The lot is beautifully landscaped, complete with patio benches and lawn swings for the enjoyment of our tenants. The building contains twelve two-bedroom apartments, several suites designed for the physically handicapped, and the remainders are one-bedroom suites. The building is constructed of steel and concrete, which provides maximum safety in case of fire, and also provides a quiet environment for our tenants.

The six-story facility includes:
  • 136 suites comprised of one and two bedroom units.
  • One bedroom units are approx 560 square feet and two bedrooms are approx 730 square feet.

  • A sitting area and balcony on most floors
  • A carpentry shop
  • A games room
  • A hairdressing room
  • Two laundry facilities on each floor

Linden Place
Linden Place is located downtown and thus provides walking access to banks and pharmacy, as well as many other businesses and restaurants. It is beautifully landscaped for the enjoyment of our tenants. The six-story building contains 33 suites, three of which are wheelchair accessible. The building is constructed of steel and concrete, which provides maximum safety in case of fire, and also provides a quiet environment for our tenants.

  • 33 suites comprised of one bedroom apartments in a six story complex.
  • A large multipurpose room, complete with kitchenette
  • Laundry facilities on three floors
  • Garbage drops on each floor
  • On site mail boxes and postal delivery
  • Telephone entry system
  • Security lighting and camera surveillance system
  • A large parking lot
  • All units are Manitoba Housing subsidized and rent is paid according to income level.

Applicants may be subject to a Pre-Medical Admission form prior to occupancy.

Admissions/Selection of Tenants
  • Steinbach Housing recognizes the admission/selection process should be consistent for all prospective tenants within the context of Steinbach Housing values.
  • Prospective tenants will complete an application form including the date of application and special preferences, if applicable.
  • All applications will be retained with the Director of Housing.
  • Applicants will be notified of an available apartment based on date of application/preferences. Subsidized Rent applications will be scored according to a point rating system and contacted based on determined criteria.
  • Applicants have one opportunity to refuse an apartment; upon second refusal, their applications will be discarded. Once an apartment is viewed by an applicant, a decision must be received by the Director of Housing within five (5) calendar days.
